Terms of Use

The terms on which MoneyCalc is made available to you.

Last updated August 27, 2026

Acceptance

By accessing or using MoneyCalc, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

What the service is

MoneyCalc provides free, browser-based calculators that estimate payroll tax withholding and take-home pay for U.S. states, together with editorial information about state tax rules, minimum wage and overtime law.

The service is informational. It is not tax, financial, accounting, investment or legal advice, and using it creates no professional relationship between you and us. Our Disclaimer sets out in detail what the calculators do and do not model; it forms part of these terms.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the site in a way that damages, disables, overburdens or impairs it, or interferes with anyone else’s use of it;
  • scrape, harvest or systematically extract content or data at a scale that places an unreasonable load on our infrastructure;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site, its servers, or any connected system;
  • reproduce or republish substantial portions of the site’s content as your own, or present our tax data as your own compilation;
  • use the site for any unlawful purpose, or to violate any applicable regulation.

Linking to our pages is welcome and needs no permission. Quoting a figure with attribution and a link is fine.

Intellectual property

The site’s design, code, editorial text, and the organisation and presentation of its tax data are owned by MoneyCalc and protected by copyright. The underlying tax rates, brackets and legal rules are facts published by government agencies and are not owned by anyone.

Availability

We aim to keep the site available and current but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the service, including individual calculators or state pages, at any time and without notice.

Accuracy and no warranty

The site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement.

We take care with our tax data and cite a primary source for every figure, but tax law changes frequently and we do not warrant that any figure is accurate, complete or current. Verify anything that matters against the official source linked on the relevant page.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MoneyCalc and anyone involved in producing it will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, income, savings or data, arising out of or connected with your use of the site or reliance on anything published on it.

This includes, without limitation, decisions about accepting a job, relocating to another state, setting retirement contributions, completing a Form W-4, or determining estimated tax payments.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of liability for certain damages. In those jurisdictions our liability is limited to the smallest amount permitted by law.

Third-party content and links

The site links to government agencies and official publications, and may display advertising served by third parties. We do not control that content and are not responsible for it. Advertising is identified as such and is kept separate from calculator controls and results.

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what information is collected. In summary: calculations run in your browser and the values you enter are never transmitted to us.

Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top of this page shows when they last changed, and continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state in which the site operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
